What would happen if the U.S. government decides to impose total control over cryptocurrencies?

Mandatory KYC on every platform, wallets constantly monitored, and every transaction recorded, analyzed, and reported in real-time.

Everything would be justified under narratives of “consumer protection,” “national security,” and “prevention of financial crime.”

However, in that process, the essence of decentralization would gradually erode. Privacy would cease to be a right and would become an exception. Self-custody would lose its meaning if every movement requires approval or oversight.

In that scenario, cryptocurrencies would cease to represent financial freedom, individual sovereignty, and permissionless access. They would become a digital version of the traditional system: more efficient, faster, but equally controlled.

It wouldn’t be the end of cryptos…

it would be their silent transformation into another system, with new technology, but with the same power as always.
