Finally, it's Friday, January 2nd! 👋
The traditional stock market closes its doors, but we know that Crypto never sleeps. However, trading on a Saturday or Sunday is not the same as trading on a Tuesday. The dynamics change completely.
If you plan to stay glued to the screens this weekend, be very careful. Here are my 3 Survival Rules to protect your capital these days:
1. Low Volume = Traps (Fakeouts) 🎣
On weekends, major institutions and banks do not operate. This means there is less liquidity in the market.
The Risk: With less money moving, it's much easier for the "whales" to manipulate the price with less capital.
The Consequence: You'll see many breakouts of resistances or supports that seem real but quickly reverse to hunt your Stop Loss.
Tip: Don't trust the first breakout you see. Wait for double confirmations.
2. Beware of the Spread (The price gap):
With fewer orders in the order book (Order Book), the difference between the buying price and the selling price tends to widen more.
If you enter "at market" (Market Order), you could enter at a much worse price than you expected.
Tip: Always use limit orders (Limit Orders) on weekends to secure your entry price.
3. The Power of Disconnecting:
Trading is 90% psychology and 10% technique.
If you had a good week: Don't try to gain more out of greed and lose it all on a boring Sunday.
If you had a bad week: Don't try to "recover" out of revenge (Revenge Trading). The weekend is dangerous for that.
Sometimes, the most profitable trade is to close the laptop, rest, and come back fresh on Monday with the opening of Wall Street.
My Plan for today
Personally, I will take these days to study, review my mistakes from the week, and prepare the levels for Monday. The market will still be there when I return.
💬 And you? Are you one of those who trades 24/7 or do you prefer to rest on the weekend? I look forward to your comments!
