The other day, my mom encountered a new scam tactic.

I had just traveled to Hunan a couple of days ago, and suddenly she received a package from Hunan. At first, she thought it was a gift I had sent her.

Upon opening it: a few hand creams + a JD card, it looked quite "legitimate".

She immediately asked me, and I quickly told her: this is a scam.

Later, upon searching, I found that many people have encountered the same tactic, which seems to be a new type of scam that has recently emerged. The hand creams are cheap goods at 1.99 yuan for 10 on Pinduoduo.

Just a reminder to everyone, especially for the elders at home, that this kind of "sending small gifts first" is basically the beginning of a phishing attempt.
