Donald Trump sent a letter to the Prime Minister of Norway, in which he stated: after the refusal to award him the Nobel Peace Prize, he no longer considers himself obliged to act solely in the logic of "supporting peace" and is now primarily guided by the interests of the USA.
Key points from the letter:
Dear Jonas,
Considering that your country has decided not to award me the Nobel Peace Prize for ending eight wars (and even more), I no longer feel obligated to think exclusively about peace — although it will remain important.
Now I have the right to think about what is right and beneficial for the United States of America.
Trump continues to question Denmark's claim to Greenland:
Denmark is unable to defend this territory from Russia or China. And in general — on what basis does it own Greenland? There are no written documents — just a ship docked there a few hundred years ago. But our ships have also come there.
He also appeals to the role of the USA in NATO:
I have done more for NATO than anyone since the alliance was formed. Now NATO must do something for the United States.
The final thesis sounds extremely harsh:
The world cannot be safe until we gain complete and total control over Greenland.
Note:
The Nobel Peace Prize is awarded by the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo. It consists of five members appointed by the Parliament of Norway (Storting).
