Wu said that, according to a report by ABS-CBN, the police in Pasig City, Philippines successfully rescued a kidnapped Chinese man from an apartment on January 16 and arrested two Chinese suspects at the scene. The operation was initiated after the victim's friend received a distress message and called the police, stating that the victim was being guarded by four Chinese individuals with knives and had been forced to transfer a large amount of money through cryptocurrency. Although the victim had been coerced into transferring approximately 400,000 US dollars in cryptocurrency and paying an additional 14,000 US dollars, the suspects continued to demand more money and threatened to sell his organs or sell him to other countries if payment was not made.
