🇧🇹🎯 BHUTAN WILL HOST A NATIONAL VALIDATOR ON THE SEI NETWORK 🎯🇧🇹
The Kingdom of Bhutan will manage a national validator on the Sei Network starting from the first quarter of 2026, in collaboration with the Sei Development Foundation and the sovereign fund Druk Holding and Investments (DHI), through the InnoTech division.
The aim is to enhance national capacity in the blockchain field and strengthen the country's role in global digital innovation.
Sei is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain, EVM-compatible, designed for DeFi applications and high transaction intensity use cases, where speed and rapid finality are crucial.
Operating a validator on a proof-of-stake network means directly participating in the security of the protocol, validating transactions, and voting on upgrades, thereby increasing the decentralization of the Sei ecosystem.
For Bhutan, this step is part of a broader digital transformation strategy led by DHI, which already utilizes hydroelectric resources for crypto activities and economic innovation projects.
The parties are also exploring future collaborations on payments, asset tokenization, and applications for digital identity, with possible use cases related to projects like the Gelephu Mindfulness City.
