CALIFORNIA — According to an official announcement from the Walrus Foundation issued on January 22, the renowned esports organization Team Liquid has decided to collaborate and move its entire content storage system to the decentralized Walrus protocol.
This is recorded as the largest single volume of data ever uploaded to this network to date. According to the agreement, approximately 250 Terabytes (TB) of data — including footage capturing historic matches, behind-the-scenes clips, and much exclusive content for enthusiasts — will be converted from traditional physical storage to Walrus's decentralized infrastructure.
A representative of Team Liquid stated that the primary goal of this large-scale transformation is to completely eliminate the risk of "single point of failure" often seen in centralized server systems. Once the data is uploaded to Walrus, these files are not only secured more safely but are also converted into "onchain-compatible assets," opening up the potential for management and use as a truly digital asset.
In the press release, Team Liquid emphasized: "Collaborating with Walrus not only makes our content easily accessible and secure, but also turns it into a useful type of asset."
This event marks a significant technical advancement, demonstrating the capabilities of the Walrus network in meeting the large-scale data storage needs of international organizations, while affirming the trend of applying blockchain technology to the preservation of digital materials in the new era.
