🚦Donald Trump launches "Peace Council" in Davos for Gaza and beyond 🌍🕊️
U.S. President Donald Trump officially announced today (01/22) in Davos the creation of his "Peace Council". The initiative aims to rebuild Gaza, but with a structure that already challenges the UN model.
Project highlights:
🤝 Who has already accepted: About 25 countries are already part of the group. Among the confirmed are Israel (Netanyahu), Argentina (Milei), Hungary (Orbán), as well as Morocco, Azerbaijan, United Arab Emirates, and Belarus.
💰 Seating Model: Unlike other bodies, countries wishing to have a permanent seat must pay US$ 1 billion. Nations like Canada have agreed to participate but have already indicated that they do not intend to pay the fee.
🇧🇷 Brazil: The Brazilian government is still evaluating the invitation and has not given a definitive answer.
❌ Rejections: The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, declined the invitation.
🏛️ Alternative to the UN: With a golden logo and the U.S. at the center, Trump positions the council as a direct and "more efficient" alternative to the United Nations.
