【Bitwise Launches BPRO ETF on the NYSE, Hedging with Bitcoin and Gold】
Currency Depreciation Bitwise announces the launch of the Bitwise Proficio Currency Debasement ETF on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), with the ticker symbol BPRO. This fund employs an actively managed investment strategy targeting assets that benefit from the declining purchasing power of global fiat currencies, including gold, bitcoin, silver, other precious metals, and mining stocks. Bitwise states that since 2006, the purchasing power of the dollar has decreased by 40%, and U.S. debt is approaching $40 trillion, with interest payments on the debt exceeding $1 trillion for the fiscal year 2026. BPRO aims to provide investors with a means to hedge against rising deficits and the risks of currency issuance by investing in assets resistant to inflation or manipulation. The fund is launched in partnership with Proficio Capital Partners, which manages $5 billion in assets. The fund will not invest directly in crypto assets but will gain indirect exposure through investments in Crypto ETPs.
