According to data from Mercury Research and Bernstein Research, five years after the launch of Apple Silicon, Apple has almost matched AMD in the laptop segment.
📊 Market share:
• Intel — over 60% (down from nearly 100% just 10 years ago)
• AMD — ~21–22%
• Apple — ~18–19%
In the desktop PC market, Apple is not Intel’s primary competitor. Intel’s main rival in desktops is AMD, which is capturing most of the users leaving Intel.
In effect, Apple Silicon is no longer an experiment. It has become a full-fledged market player, putting pressure on both x86 giants simultaneously.
