Exit Priority Queues and Challenge Periods
Exit priority queues decide who gets to withdraw from Plasma first on Ethereum. Usually, the oldest deposits or transactions take the front of the line, so people with the longest-standing claims get paid out before newer ones. Then there’s the challenge period, a built-in pause that gives everyone a chance to point out fraud or mistakes before the exit goes through. These two features work together to stop double-spending and keep operators honest. Sure, they make Plasma a lot safer, but they also slow things down and make the withdrawal process trickier for users. That’s the trade-off you get: more security, but less convenience.
