This morning (25/01), sitting and sipping a cup of coffee, I opened the Walrus (WAL) chart and was quite pleased. Its price just hit $0.123 and then bounced back to $0.13 immediately. Looking at the green candle with that strong buying volume, it's clear someone is accumulating heavily.
While we're on the topic of running "Node" to make money with this, I have a few practical, brief thoughts to share:
1. Understand the profession simply
To put it bluntly, this is the "hard drive rental" profession. Data on the internet is increasing, Walrus needs storage space, so it rents machines from us. We contribute storage capacity, keep the machines running smoothly, and it compensates us with WAL coins.
2. Prepare the tools (Need to be practical)
No need for a "dinosaur" billion-dollar machine, but the equipment must be decent:
* Hard drives: Try to find specialized lines for servers (like Red, IronWolf...). These drives are durable and have fewer errors. Don't be tempted to buy cheap old drives; if they fail halfway through, you lose data and get penalized by the system, which would be a waste of effort.
* Power & Electricity: The machine runs 24/7, so a good power supply (Gold standard is better) is needed for clean electricity, so that the hard drives last longer.
* Network: A stable connection is needed, with minimal disconnections.
3. Calculating the route and steps
* About the price: I see the price range of $0.12 - $0.13 is a safe zone to start. It's forming quite a solid bottom.
* Short-term gains to support long-term: While waiting to set up the machines or if you are not familiar with the technology, you can throw your investments onto the platform for interest (Earn) at around 11%. Earning some coffee money while waiting isn't too bad.
In summary:
This deal suits those who are willing to learn a bit about technology and want to earn long-term passive income. For those who prefer "quick returns" and want to double or triple their accounts in a few days, this deal might be a bit slow.
