Pakistan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the close crypto company of American President Trump, 'World Liberty Financial', under which the initiation of cross-border payments through the institution's stablecoin will be reviewed. This crypto platform, starting in September 2024, marks the first formal public agreement with any sovereign state, announced during the visit of the company's co-founder and CEO, Zach Witkoff, to Pakistan. It is noteworthy that Zach Witkoff is the son of President Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and this partnership is being regarded as a significant advancement towards Pakistan's digital financial system. This agreement has come at a time when discussions are ongoing globally regarding the regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies and their use in cross-border transactions.
