On Friday, I had a meal with my colleagues and chatted about the recent trends in gold and silver. This topic feels super hot right now! Everyone in the square is welcome to provide guidance.
The basic consensus about gold is: even if there is a short-term correction, it won't drop too much. Historical data shows that gold prices have a long-term upward trend, especially with the current global environment being so chaotic— the US dollar continues to weaken (due to pressure on the Federal Reserve, tariff wars, and geopolitical risks), and gold's value as the ultimate safe-haven asset has become stronger. Central banks are buying aggressively, ETFs are flowing in, and investors' trust in currency is declining; these structural factors are supporting gold prices to continue rising. Many people believe that seeing $6000+ in 2026 or even higher is not a dream, and corrections are just opportunities for newcomers to get onboard.
However, regarding silver, everyone seems to agree: there will definitely be a correction, and it might be quite severe! Silver has been rising too fast (with even more exaggerated increases than gold), driven by industrial demand and speculative funds, but once the US dollar rebounds, profit-taking occurs, or industrial demand does not keep up in the short term, silver prices can easily see significant corrections. The gold-silver ratio has now shrunk to around 50-60 (historical highs often above 100), and many people feel there are signs of a “bubble” in silver prices, which are likely to give back some gains after a short-term overheating. After the correction, it might actually be a better entry point, because looking at the long term, the supply-demand gap still exists, and silver has much greater elasticity than gold.
What do you think? Should we continue to all-in on gold for safety, or wait for silver to correct before buying the dip? Or should we allocate both gold and silver to diversify risk? Recently, discussions like this on Binance Square have been frequent, and it feels like everyone is looking for the next breakout point~
(PS: Those two little secretary messages from yesterday are still reminding me: creation is so interesting, chatting about the market can still yield some returns, let's go! 🚀)
I opened a mini position to short silver before going to bed yesterday. 😄
