Have you ever seen a massive "buy wall" in the Order Book and thought the price would explode upwards, so you bought... then the wall suddenly disappeared and the price collapsed? 📉
Welcome to the world of Spoofing. Whales use this trick to mislead small traders.
What happens behind the scenes?
The trap: The whale places a huge order at a certain price to make you feel secure.
The goal: To force you and small traders to buy "at market price."
The trick: Moments before the price reaches their order, the whale cancels the order in the blink of an eye.
The knockout blow: The whale begins to sell real on top of the traders who bought based on "phantom support."
The bitter truth: 90% of the huge walls you see are "ghosts" that disappear as soon as the price approaches them. The real whale that wants to buy does not place an order for 500 Bitcoin for everyone to see.. instead, they buy quietly without you noticing!
Do you doubt my words? Here’s how you can monitor these phantom walls yourself!
Using Binance API and Python, we can track changes in the order book. The following code shows how we monitor a specific "wall":
"import ccxt
import time
exchange = ccxt.binance()
symbol = 'BTC/USDT'
target_price = 45000 # The price at which you monitor the wall
min_wall_size = 50 # The minimum size to consider it a "wall" (e.g., 50 Bitcoin)
print(f"Monitoring {symbol} for spoofing near {target_price}")
while True:
try:
order_book = exchange.fetch_order_book(symbol, limit=100) # Fetch 100 orders
# Monitoring Buy Walls
buy_wall_found = False
for bid_price, bid_amount in order_book['bids']:
if bid_price <= target_price and bid_amount >= min_wall_size:
print(f"[{time.strftime('%H:%M:%S')}] Potential Buy Wall at {bid_price}: {bid_amount} BTC")
buy_wall_found = True
break
if not buy_wall_found:
print(f"[{time.strftime('%H:%M:%S')}] No significant Buy Wall found near {target_price}.")
# Here you can add logic to alert you when the wall disappears!
except Exception as e:
print(f"Error fetching order book: {e}")
time.sleep(5) # Wait for 5 seconds before the next update"
This simple code monitors the order book for a specific currency at a certain price and alerts you to the presence of a huge "Buy Wall". If this wall suddenly disappears, it’s a sign of potential spoofing!
