Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the next round of trilateral negotiations involving Ukraine, Russia, and the USA is planned to be held in Abu Dhabi on February 4 and 5. He wrote about this on social media on February 1.

According to Zelensky, Kyiv is ready for a substantive dialogue and hopes that the negotiations will help to move closer to a 'real and dignified end to the war.' The Ukrainian side, the president emphasized, is interested in a practical result from the meetings.

There have been no official comments from representatives of Russia and the United States regarding the new dates for the negotiations yet.

It was previously assumed that the next round of trilateral consultations would take place on February 1 in Abu Dhabi. This was stated on January 28 by the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, noting that the negotiations are tentatively scheduled for that date. However, on January 30, Vladimir Zelensky allowed for the possibility of postponing the meeting against the backdrop of escalating relations between the USA and Iran, as well as changes in the venue.

The first round of negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the USA took place in a closed format in Abu Dhabi on January 23–24. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates reported that during the consultations, the delegations of Russia and Ukraine directly contacted each other for the first time in a long time.

Following the meeting, representatives of Ukraine characterized the negotiations as 'positive' and 'constructive.' At the same time, the Russian side stated that one should not expect high effectiveness from the first contacts, emphasizing their preliminary nature.
