🇨🇦Bitcoin miners to heat Canadian greenhouses

🔸 Bitcoin mining hardware maker Canaan is using the heat generated by its mining rigs to help heat Canadian greenhouses in a new pilot project, which will help grow crops like tomatoes.

🔸 According to Canaan, the pilot project is being carried out in partnership with Bitforest Investment and has a capacity of 3 megawatts. The goal is to recover the heat generated by Avalon computing devices and use it as an auxiliary source of heating in greenhouses.

🔸 The project, which is scheduled to last 24 months,
will use Canaan’s liquid cooling system to collect the heat from the miners and use it to heat the water entering the greenhouses. This will significantly reduce energy consumption for heating.
