Guardiola Urges City to Pressure Arsenal in Title Run-In
Pep Guardiola has called on Manchester City to pile pressure on Premier League leaders Arsenal by defeating Brentford this Saturday. Following a dramatic 3-3 draw against Everton, City trail the Gunners by five points with a game in hand.
Guardiola emphasized that winning their remaining four matches is the only way to stay in the race, while also praising Jeremy Doku’s recent goal-scoring form.
With Rodri, Ruben Dias, and Josko Gvardiol nearing full fitness, City hope a victory at the Etihad will cut the gap before Arsenal face West Ham on Sunday.
Ronaldo Hits 100-Goal Milestone as Al Nassr Close in on Title
Cristiano Ronaldo reached a historic landmark, scoring his 100th Saudi Pro League goal in Al Nassr’s 4-2 victory over Al-Shabab.
The 41-year-old’s strike, his 971st career goal, combined with a João Félix hat-trick to move Al Nassr five points clear at the top. With 82 points and two games left, Jorge Jesus's side could officially secure the championship in their upcoming derby against rivals Al-Hilal.
This win puts Ronaldo on the verge of his first trophy in Saudi Arabia, with an Asian Champions League Two final also looming on May 16.
Malta is fighting EU plans to centralize crypto oversight under ESMA, warning it could push firms out of Europe.
What's Happening: France, Italy and Austria want ESMA to directly supervise major crypto firms, arguing MiCA rules are being applied inconsistently across member states.
Malta opposes this. It currently oversees Crypto.com, Gemini and Bitpanda and warns centralization would add bureaucracy and kill competitiveness.
Why It Matters: If the EU over-regulates, crypto firms will move to friendlier jurisdictions: → US: Pro-crypto legislation gaining momentum → UAE: Dubai's VARA attracting global players → Asia: Hong Kong and Singapore offering clarity

KelpDAO Ditches LayerZero, Migrates rsETH To Chainlink CCIP After $292M Hack
KelpDAO is officially moving rsETH cross-chain transfers from LayerZero's OFT standard to Chainlink's CCIP, citing LayerZero's infrastructure as the root cause of the April 18 exploit.
What Happened: Attackers linked to North Korea's Lazarus Group drained 116,500 rsETH (~$292M) by compromising LayerZero's own RPC nodes and feeding forged data to a single-verifier (1-of-1 DVN) setup. The bridge released rsETH against a burn that never happened. Cascading DeFi losses crossed $300M.
The Blame Game: 🔸 LayerZero blames Kelp for using a 1-of-1 DVN against recommendations 🔸 Kelp says this setup was LayerZero's own documented default, used by nearly 40% of LayerZero apps 🔸 Compromised DVN was run by LayerZero Labs, not a third party 🔸 Kelp had to alert LayerZero of the exploit, not the other way around
Why CCIP: Chainlink CCIP requires multiple independent validators to approve transfers, eliminating the single-point-of-failure risk that broke Kelp's bridge.
LayerZero will stop signing messages for any 1-of-1 DVN app, forcing an ecosystem-wide migration. This is a wake-up call for cross-chain security and a major win for Chainlink's multi-validator architecture.
On Strategy's Q1 2026 earnings call, Michael Saylor said: "We will probably sell some bitcoin to pay a dividend just to inoculate the market and send the message that we did it."
His model: Buy $BTC with credit, let it appreciate, sell a portion to fund dividends.
