Bullish๐๐๐งง๐งงOn November 12, according to Caixin, Qian Zhimin, the main culprit of the money laundering case involving 60,000 BTC, was sentenced to 11 years and 8 months in prison on Tuesday at the Southwark Crown Court in the UK. Since Qian Zhimin has been detained for about 18 months since April 23, 2024, this period will be directly deducted from her total sentence. According to the UK 'automatic release' rule, ordinary sentenced offenders can transition to community supervision after serving half of their sentence. Based on this, it is estimated she will be released in late February 2030.
In addition, Qian Zhimin will also be subject to a serious crime prevention order (SCPO) for 5 years, effective after her release. Analysts point out that Qian Zhimin's sentence marks the end of the criminal aspect of the case, but the real issue of how to dispose of the 60,000 bitcoins has just begun.
