XRP Futures Hit Record Highs as CME Sees Explosive Q3 Growth
Institutional appetite for regulated crypto assets, particularly XRP, is accelerating, propelling derivatives markets to record highs. CME Group published its Crypto Insights report for October 2025 last week, revealing that the third quarter of this year was its strongest on record, with combined crypto futures and options volume surpassing $900 billion and average daily open interest (OI) climbing to $31.3 billion. The report identified 1,014 large open interest holders (LOIH), underscoring the deepening role of institutional investors in the crypto sector and marking a pivotal stage in the evolution of digital asset markets.
CME Group stated: āQ3 demonstrated a surge in demand for regulated crypto exposure, with solana ( SOL) and XRP futures reaching all-time highs, signaling growing institutional and retail interest that extends beyond bitcoin and ether.ā The firm reported particularly strong performance in XRP derivatives, stating:
XRP: Since launch in May, the XRP and Micro XRP futures suite has traded 476K contracts, equating to over $23.7B in notional value. OI reached $1.4B in September and set a new LOIH record of 29 for XRP futures.

Nasdaq-listed Bionexus Gene Lab Corp (BGLC) has approved a treasury strategy centered on ethereum.
Wyoming Blockchain Laws Hailed
Bionexus Gene Lab Corp (BGLC), a technology and healthcare-focused company incorporated in Wyoming, announced on March 6 that its board of directors has approved an ethereum-focused treasury strategy. This move makes the Nasdaq-listed company the first to āexclusively prioritize Ethereum (ETH) as a strategic treasury asset.ā
According to a pressĀ statement, BGLC has also released its Ethereum strategy whitepaper, which explains why the company chose the second-largest cryptocurrency. The statement adds that Wyomingās āforward-thinking blockchain lawsā were crucial in guiding BGLC in its current direction.
Commenting on the announcement, the companyās CEO, Sam Tan, said:
By integrating Ethereum into our corporate treasury, BioNexus Gene Lab Corp. is embracing the future of financial infrastructure. Ethereum offers high liquidity, utility, and stability compared to other digital assets, positioning BGLC as a leader in blockchain-integrated corporate finance. Wyomingās regulatory leadership further validates our decision, as it fosters an environment where blockchain businesses can thrive.
While other listed companies like Strategy (formerly Microstrategy) and Metaplanet have prioritized bitcoin (BTC), BGLC stated that an extensive analysis ofĀ ETHĀ prompted its board to opt for the latter.
