The 'Death Note' of the Poor: Breaking Free from the Fate of Intergenerational Predicaments

The survival experiences of the poor often resemble a 'death note' filled with cognitive limitations, trapping themselves and the next generation. When a person graduates and is ensnared by the anxiety of 'how to eat tomorrow,' their focus can only be on the small area beneath their feet, and they will naturally never see the opportunities ten years later, such as BTC from ten years ago compared to BTC from ten years later. Several instances could change the fate of the poor. However, the poor cannot see or plan that far ahead.

A person's poverty often begins with intergenerational transmission within the family—parents are poor, grandparents are poor, and the entire family is deeply mired in poverty. This means that the major financial decisions they make in their lifetime are almost all wrong, fundamentally lacking basic wealth awareness.

Children who grow up immersed in an environment disconnected from wealth hear the trivialities of daily necessities and see the struggles of making a living. The information networks of impoverished families remain forever at the lowest dimension of survival: where to buy vegetables cheaper, which job pays daily wages higher, 'work hard, marry a wife, and live a stable life' is their ultimate pursuit. They have never considered the logic of asset allocation, do not understand the value of educational investment, cannot see the trends in industries, and will not actively elevate their cognitive level—these key factors that truly determine long-term wealth have never existed in their world.

The biggest trap set for retail investors by the market is to make you feel that shorting is safe at high levels and going long is dangerous at low levels. But the truth is exactly the opposite: shorting at high levels carries unlimited risk, while going long at low levels truly represents asymmetric returns.
