⚡ Ethereum + Bitcoin Supercycle = Explosive Scenario — What’s the Target?
Ethereum mostly rises and falls alongside Bitcoin throughout the years. Ethereum has trailed behind as Bitcoin has set numerous all-time highs, suggesting a cycle divergence. However, Fundstrat CIO Tom Lee expects ETH to duplicate the Bitcoin supercycle and catch up to BTC.
Tom Lee on Ethereum's Bitcoin-Like Supercycle
Fundstrat and its CIO, Tom Lee, are well-known in the crypto business for their comments and forecasts. One of the recent updates from Lee, who has always been bullish on Ethereum, covers the ‘Bitcoin supercycle’ over the years and why Ethereum could be the next to replicate it.
Fundstrat clients were first introduced to Bitcoin and crypto in 2017. Lee said Fundstrat encouraged clients to invest 1%–2% in Bitcoin at the time.
Though ‘high’ at the time, BTC was quite cheap compared to today. In the 8.5 years since then, BTC has excelled, giving holders a 100x return.
Lee said in the presentation that Fundstrat expects a supercycle again, but not for Bitcoin. Ethereum is the company's new favorite, and the CIO thinks it might follow Bitcoin.
He cautions that getting this supercycle will be difficult. Before its 100x rally, Bitcoin fell more than 50% six times and 75% three times. Thus, “The path higher is not a straight line,” but holding is vital.
Using the current Ethereum price and a comparable timescale as Bitcoin, a 100x gain would push Ethereum over $300,000. Timeframe suggests this will happen around 2033.

Ethereum mostly rises and falls alongside Bitcoin throughout the years. Ethereum has trailed behind as Bitcoin has set numerous all-time highs, suggesting a cycle divergence. However, Fundstrat CIO Tom Lee expects ETH to duplicate the Bitcoin supercycle and catch up to BTC.
Tom Lee on Ethereum's Bitcoin-Like Supercycle
Fundstrat and its CIO, Tom Lee, are well-known in the crypto business for their comments and forecasts. One of the recent updates from Lee, who has always been bullish on Ethereum, covers the ‘Bitcoin supercycle’ over the years and why Ethereum could be the next to replicate it.
Fundstrat clients were first introduced to Bitcoin and crypto in 2017. Lee said Fundstrat encouraged clients to invest 1%–2% in Bitcoin at the time.
Though ‘high’ at the time, BTC was quite cheap compared to today. In the 8.5 years since then, BTC has excelled, giving holders a 100x return.
Lee said in the presentation that Fundstrat expects a supercycle again, but not for Bitcoin. Ethereum is the company's new favorite, and the CIO thinks it might follow Bitcoin.
He cautions that getting this supercycle will be difficult. Before its 100x rally, Bitcoin fell more than 50% six times and 75% three times. Thus, “The path higher is not a straight line,” but holding is vital.
Using the current Ethereum price and a comparable timescale as Bitcoin, a 100x gain would push Ethereum over $300,000. Timeframe suggests this will happen around 2033.
