#pixel $PIXEL The Arbitrum Security Council has frozen 30,766 ETH on Arbitrum One, in connection with the recent KelpDAO hack. The council indicated that it acted after coordinating its efforts with law enforcement regarding the hacker's identity. The Arbitrum Council is transferring the funds to a wallet that only governance can unlock. BeInCrypto reported that attackers drained approximately 116,500 rsETH, worth about 292 million dollars, from KelpDAO on April 18. The hacker then deposited the stolen rsETH as collateral on Aave V3 and borrowed a significant amount of WETH against it. "KelpDAO appears to have suffered the theft of over 280 million dollars an hour ago on Ethereum and Arbitrum. The addresses used for the attack were funded through Tornado Cash," wrote ZachXBT on Telegram. Now, the Arbitrum Security Council has transferred the 30,766 ETH to a frozen intermediary wallet shortly before midnight (Eastern Time) on April 20, according to the team's statement. Thus, the original address holding the funds can no longer access them. Follow us on X to receive all the latest news in real time. Only an additional governance action can transfer the ETH from their new location. Arbitrum clarified that.
