SOL is down. On-chain metrics are weakening. Yet institutional money keeps flowing in.
So the real question is simple: Are investors positioning early — or buying into weakness?
Despite a broader market correction, Solana ETFs have recorded seven consecutive days of net inflows. Data from Farside Investors shows Tuesday marked the strongest inflow of the week, with $16.6 million entering SOL ETFs. Total cumulative inflows now stand at $674 million.
SOL ETFs launched in the U.S. in July with the REX-Osprey Solana Staking ETF, followed by Bitwise’s BSOL ETF in October. Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart called it one of the most notable ETF launches of 2025, highlighting sustained institutional interest even amid negative price action.
Still, SOL faces mounting pressure. Nansen data shows Solana’s market cap has fallen over 2% in the past week, while perpetual futures open interest remains above $447 million. The token is now down nearly 55% from its all-time high near $295, reached during January’s memecoin-driven rally.
Since November, SOL has traded below its 365-day moving average, a key long-term support level. Price continues to struggle below the $140–$145 resistance zone, failing to secure a decisive breakout in December.
The divergence between rising ETF inflows and falling price suggests long-term accumulation rather than short-term speculation. As SEC Chair Paul Atkins recently noted, “U.S. financial markets are preparing to move on-chain.”
