UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is facing growing pressure inside the Labour Party after a disastrous set of local election results.

Dr. Stephen Kornfeld, the Oregon cancer doctor who became widely known for helping sick passengers aboard the hantavirus-hit MV Hondius, has now been moved out of a high-security biocontainment unit after testing negative for the virus.

Officials at Nebraska Medicine confirmed that follow-up CDC tests showed no active infection. Dr. Kornfeld had originally been isolated after receiving a “faintly positive” test result while the ship was docked in the Netherlands.

The 69-year-old doctor said he now feels “100%” healthy and no longer has the mild flu-like symptoms he briefly experienced during the voyage.

The outbreak on the MV Hondius involved the rare Andes hantavirus strain, which is unusual because it can spread from person to person. According to the World Health Organization, 11 cases and three deaths have been linked to the cruise worldwide.

Despite the negative test results, Dr. Kornfeld and other American passengers will continue staying under medical monitoring during a 42-day precautionary quarantine period.
