1) When does the market lead #BTC ?

The market leads when the fundamental question is:

Is liquidity flowing into crypto or out?

Common scenarios:

BTC is surging hard

This often indicates new liquidity entering or an improved risk appetite.

The result:

The whole market might pump

But initially, BTC often outperforms the altcoins

BTC is taking a nosedive

This often indicates general fear or liquidity exiting

The outcome:

Most of the market is dropping with it

Alts often drop more than BTC

BTC is breaking an important level

Like a strong resistance or a key support

Here the market watches it as a 'trend signal':

Bullish breakout = overall optimism

Bearish break = overall selling pressure

2) When does BTC Dominance lead the market?

Dominance leads when the question is not:

Is the money in the market?

But:

Where's the money flowing in the market? To BTC or to the alts?

In short, Dominance means:

It's the percentage of BTC's value from the total crypto market value.

3) How do we read the scenarios?

// BTC is rising + Dominance is rising

This means:

Money is entering the market

And most of the flow goes to BTC

The outcome:

BTC leads strongly, and the alts might rise but less than it.

This often happens at the beginning of bullish waves or when relative fear makes people prefer the stronger asset.

// BTC is rising + Dominance is dropping

This means:

The market is bullish

But the alts are taking a bigger share of the liquidity

The outcome:

This is one of the strongest signals of alt strength

And we often see:

ETH is strong

Large and mid-cap coins are outperforming BTC

This is close to an altseason vibe.

// BTC is dropping + Dominance is rising

This is a very important scenario.

It means:

The market is bearish

But the alts are collapsing more than BTC

The outcome:

Traders are fleeing from the alts to BTC or exiting the market, but BTC is holding up relatively better.

This is often very negative for the alts.

// BTC is dropping + Dominance is dropping

It means:

BTC is weak

But some liquidity is not flowing into them

Sometimes you go to ETH or stablecoins or certain sectors

The outcome:

This scenario requires caution in interpretation, but it sometimes appears when BTC is not the only focal point or when there’s a strong narrative in the alts/ETH.

4) When should I watch BTC more, and when should I focus on Dominance more?

Watch BTC more when:

Price at strong support/resistance

There’s some important macro news

The market is tense

You want to know the overall market direction

Watch Dominance more when:

You want to know if the alts will outperform or not

BTC is relatively stable

Looking for the liquidity rotation from BTC to ETH, then to the alts

You want to assess whether we are in a suitable environment for the alts or not

5) The quick practical rule

BTC = the overall market trend

Dominance = liquidity distribution within the market

ETH = the bridge between BTC and the alts

6) A very simple model for daily thinking

Every day I ask:

Is BTC bullish, bearish, or sideways?

Is Dominance bullish or bearish?

Is ETH stronger or weaker than BTC?

If:

BTC is strong

Dominance is rising

=> The preference is often for BTC

If:

BTC is stable or slowly bullish

Dominance is dropping

ETH is strong

=> The environment is better for the alts

If: $$$

BTC is weak

Dominance is rising

=> Stay away from the alts or reduce your risk
