What do you all think about the end of $BTC ? The idea that quantum computing could end Bitcoin is more dramatic than likely, but it's not entirely unfounded. The crux of the matter lies in cryptography: today, Bitcoin relies on algorithms (like ECDSA) that would be vulnerable to sufficiently advanced quantum computers. In theory, a powerful quantum computer could derive private keys from public keys, allowing for fund theft. The problem is the 'sufficiently advanced' part… Current quantum machines are still a long way from breaking the encryption used in Bitcoin on a practical scale. The network itself isn’t static; developers are already studying alternatives for quantum-resistant cryptography, and a protocol upgrade could be implemented before the threat becomes real. So… is there a risk? Yes, especially for wallets that have already exposed their public keys in old transactions. But talking about the “end of BTC” ignores the ecosystem's ability to adapt. If quantum computing evolves to the point of breaking Bitcoin, it will also impact banks, governments, and practically all digital infrastructure; making a global transition to security more likely than an isolated cryptocurrency collapse. Based on this reasoning, I've started to take a broader view on the upcoming halving and greater confidence to increase my position in the portfolio. Hope this helps you all too! #Endofbitcoin
