Day 8/30: P2P DRC: I almost lost 50
#USDT Rule #3 saved me 🇨🇩
Yesterday you voted overwhelmingly for Rule #3: "The name Binance = Mobile Money name".
Many were unaware. Here’s why it’s crucial:
**True story:**
Last week, I sold 50 USDT on P2P. Buyer "Jean K.", Verified badge, 99% success rate.
Everything seemed legit. He tells me: "I sent it via M-Pesa".
I check my M-Pesa: money received from "Maman Antoinette M."
**🚨 DANGER**: The names do NOT match.
I apply Rule #3:
I cancel the order immediately. I don’t release anything.
30 minutes later, "Jean K." is hounding me in the chat: "Please release, my wife sent it".
I report + take a screenshot.
**Outcome:**
Binance blocked his account. It was a borrowed account.
If I had released, my 50 USDT would have been lost forever.
**Rule #3 saves lives:**
Binance: "Jean K." = M-Pesa: "Jean K."
If different = 90% scam. Cancel without hesitation.
⚠️ This is not financial advice. I’m just sharing my experience with P2P security features. Always DYOR.
Question: Have you ever had a different name on Mobile Money?
"Yes, I canceled" or "No, never seen" 👇
