The U.S. and Iran strike a deal to end the war while Trump states that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen
#usirandealconfirmed #trumpiranwar The U.S. and Iran have agreed to reach a deal to put an end to their conflict, with U.S. President Donald Trump stating that the oil shipping channel of the Strait of Hormuz will also reopen.
Pakistan's Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, whose country has been mediating, announced the deal on Sunday.
He said both parties have declared "the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon," where Israel and the Iran-backed group Hezbollah have been fighting, although Israeli politicians criticized the deal.
The pact - set to be signed in Switzerland on Friday - will extend a ceasefire for another 60 days, during which the parties will negotiate the details of a final agreement.
Trump stated on Sunday that he had ordered the immediate removal of a U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports and added that the Strait of Hormuz would open once the initial deal is signed.
"Ships of the World, rev up your engines. Let the oil flow!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.
In another post, he said the deal "will bring Peace and Security to the entire Region."
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, confirmed the end of military operations in a phone call on Iranian state television, which portrayed the framework agreement as a victory for Iran.
