Current Overview: The Regulatory Environment for Crypto Assets in Venezuela (June 2026) The digital asset ecosystem in Venezuela is going through a phase of institutional and operational adjustment marked by recent state directives. For any user or trader in the territory, it’s crucial to understand the current framework to operate with due diligence and avoid unnecessary risks. Digital Mining vs. Energy Reality One of the most significant turning points in recent months has been the official stance on Bitcoin mining and other cryptocurrencies. Given the need to stabilize and optimize the National Electric System (SEN) infrastructure, authorities have reaffirmed the ban on digital mining operations. This measure is not merely administrative; it translates into enforcement operations across the country, including the dismantling of large-scale farms — like those recently reported in the state of Aragua. The state's central argument focuses on mitigating electrical demand, which has reached critical levels, and protecting distribution equipment from potential overloads. For those in the crypto community, this message is clear: mining activity within Venezuelan territory is today considered an illegal practice, subject to penalties and confiscation. Tax Obligations: The SENIAT Radar Parallel to the operational restriction, tax compliance has become an unavoidable obligation. Regarding commercial activity and holdings, the National Integrated Customs and Tax Administration Service (SENIAT) has emphasized the traceability of income derived from crypto assets. It’s important to remember that anyone, whether an individual or legal entity, who has generated returns in digital assets (Bitcoin, USDT, among others) must consider declaring it under the Income Tax (ISLR). #venezuela $BTC

CNN: How Venezuela's New Leader Won Trump's Support After Maduro's ImprisonmentCNN: How Venezuela's New Leader Won Trump's Support After Maduro's Imprisonment According to CNN, Venezuela's political landscape has undergone a major transformation following the imprisonment of former president in the United States. With Maduro no longer leading the country, acting president has emerged as the most powerful figure in Venezuela and has successfully built a working relationship with U.S. President . CNN reports that Rodríguez moved quickly to stabilize her administration after assuming leadership. Her government focused on maintaining political order, preserving the influence of the ruling movement, and addressing the challenges created by the country's political transition. Her approach has been centered on stability and continuity at a time of significant uncertainty. One of the key reasons behind improving relations between Caracas and Washington has been a series of economic reforms introduced by Rodríguez's administration. The government opened parts of Venezuela's energy sector to greater foreign participation and implemented policies designed to attract international investment. These moves were seen as positive signals by both U.S. officials and global investors. Security cooperation has also played an important role in strengthening ties between the two countries. According to CNN, Venezuelan authorities have worked alongside U.S. agencies in efforts targeting the criminal organization . The increased cooperation has been viewed as a significant step toward rebuilding trust between Washington and Caracas after years of strained relations. The Trump administration has reportedly welcomed Rodríguez's pragmatic approach, viewing her as a leader willing to engage with the United States on issues such as economic recovery, security, and regional stability. Supporters argue that these policies have helped improve Venezuela's international standing and opened new opportunities for economic growth. However, critics remain skeptical. Human rights organizations and opposition figures argue that while relations with the United States may be improving, major democratic reforms have yet to materialize. Concerns persist over political freedoms, the status of political prisoners, and the absence of a clear timeline for fully competitive national elections. As Venezuela enters a new chapter under Rodríguez's leadership, analysts remain divided over the long-term impact of her strategy. Supporters see a path toward stability and economic recovery, while critics warn that closer ties with Washington may not necessarily lead to deeper democratic change. Injecting between $1.5 billion and $1.8 billion into banks to intervene in the marketThe economist and co-founder of Ecoanalítica, Alejandro Grisanti, stated that the authorities started injecting dollars into the banks to reinforce the planned currency interventions for the upcoming weeks. According to his calculations, the amounts transferred range between $1.5 billion and $1.8 billion, which would raise the available resources to about $2.5 billion to contain the pressure on the exchange rate. Grisanti pointed out on X that this advance of the interventions originally planned for July suggests that the Government wants —and can— significantly boost the supply of foreign currency in the short term. With these liquidity levels, he argued, there shouldn't be any doubts about the official capacity to keep the alternative market exchange rates in check.
