Developers #Zcash allowed the transfer of update #Ironwood
The Zcash blockchain development team warned of a possible postponement of the Ironwood upgrade activation, as some crypto exchanges, pools, and wallets may not be able to implement the changes by the end of July.
Ironwood is intended to launch a new protected pool and limit the supply $ZEC after a vulnerability was discovered in Orchard.
Shielded Labs head Jason McGhee, in a community forum post, warned that infrastructure participants need more time to securely prepare for the upgrade.
The ecosystem is currently preparing for two major changes: Ironwood itself and the move away from the old software for validators and zcashd nodes in favor of the Z3 stack. The solution consists of three main components:
• #Zebra — for running the node;
• #Zaino — for transferring blockchain data to applications;
• #Zallet — for wallet functions.
According to McGhee, the last two items are still under development and are not yet ready for full operation.
