#plasma $XPL Here’s a breakdown of XPL (token of the Plasma network) — what it is, how it works, and some of the risks and opportunities to be aware of. ✅ What is XPL / Plasma? Plasma is a Layer 1 blockchain built specifically for stablecoins (in particular USDT) and payments. Its website states: “Designed for stablecoins from the ground up… near-instant, fee-free payments with institutional-grade security.” XPL is the native token of the Plasma network: used for fees, staking/validator rewards, governance, and security of the chain. Key technical features: EVM‐compatible execution layer (so existing Ethereum smart contracts/tools can deploy) Zero-fee transfers for USDT (in basic usage) via a built-in “paymaster” that subsidizes gas in certain cases. Bridge to Bitcoin: ability to bring BTC into the ecosystem in the form of a 1:1 backed token (pBTC) to use in contracts. --- 🧮 Tokenomics & Distribution Total supply: 10 billion XPL tokens. Allocation: 10% (1 billion) went to the public sale. 40% (4 billion) for ecosystem & growth initiatives. 25% (2.5 billion) for team. 25% (2.5 billion) for investors. Unlock / vesting schedules: For example, the ecosystem & growth allocation: 8% unlocked at mainnet beta launch, remaining over the next 3 years. Emissions & inflation: Validator rewards begin at ~5% annual inflation, decreasing by ~0.5% per year until settling at ~3% long term. Meanwhile, base transaction fees (in XPL) are burned, applying some deflationary pressure. --- 🎯 Use-Cases & Strategic Focus The primary target: stablecoin payments (especially USDT) at global scale — fast settlement, low or zero fees, high throughput. Facilitate merchant payments, cross-border remittances, fiat-stablecoin rails, everyday usage of digital dollars. Developers can deploy existing smart contracts (EVM) for stablecoin & payment applications, benefiting from Plasma’s payment-centric optimizations.

#FOMCMeeting Article 1: “Rate Cut, But Reserve’s Path Remains Unclear” The Fed cut its key rate again, but gave markets plenty to chew on. On October 29 2025, the FOMC voted to reduce the target range for the federal funds rate by 25 basis points, bringing it down to 3.75 %–4.00 %. Chair Jerome Powell described the vote (10-2) as a “solid endorsement” of easing policy to support a labour market that is gradually cooling. Why the cut? The job market is showing signs of softness: job gains have slowed this year, and the unemployment rate has edged higher, though still low. Inflation remains “somewhat elevated” despite coming down from its peaks. The Fed noted that “uncertainty about the economic outlook remains elevated.” What’s new? The Fed signalled that further cuts are not guaranteed — for December and beyond, the path is conditional. Powell emphasised that the committee is not locked into another rate cut next time. The Fed also announced a change in its balance‐sheet approach: beginning December 1, it will roll over all principal payments from its Treasury holdings and reinvest all principal from agency securities into Treasury bills That effectively ends the “run-off” era of quantitative tightening. There were two dissents: one member preferred a deeper 50 bps cut, another preferred no cut at all. Those split views signal some unease within the committee.
