Yi He's WeChat Hacked — Used to Push Memecoin Pump-and-Dump @Binance Binance Co-CEO Yi He's WeChat account was hacked and briefly used as a bullhorn to push a memecoin scam. The perpetrators utilized the hijacked account to shill a relatively unknown token to create fake excitement and pull off a quick pump and dump. CZ then confirmed the breach on X, warning users not to trust the posts: “Web2 social media security isn't that strong. Stay SAFU. Do not buy any meme coins from the hackers' posts. Yi He said she hasn't used WeChat for a very long period of time, and the phone number attached to the account was taken over, locking her out. On-chain sleuths followed the attackers' moves: • Two new wallets purchased 21.16M MUBARA with 19,479 USDT Price spiked as the fake endorsement spread through WeChat • The wallets then dumped the tokens into the surge • 11.95M for 43,520 USDT, while still holding 9.21M Estimated profit so far: ~$55,000 It's a classic pattern: buy early, use a compromised high-profile account to spark FOMO, then unload on retail traders who jump in late. Beyond warnings from CZ and Yi He, Binance has not said more on the issue. Watch your step, all. If it smells of fabricated hype then it probably is.
