The journey of Real World Assets Real world assets were initially discussed talked about back in 2017 during the ICO boom. I wasn’t there at the time (I was 15 so please forgive me) Projects were claiming they were tokenizing real estate & gold but it was all a Fassade. 2019/20 saw makerDAO Kick of modern rwas such as loans and credit lines 2021/22 saw institutions begin experimenting Projects like @Securitize began tokenizing equity. In 2023 black rock publicly endorsed tokenization and the idea that all assets will be brought onchain. 2024/25 have saw rwas go wild. Private credit hitting the billions. Major chains fighting to become the main rails for tokenization 2026 will be like nothing seen before. The year retail actually gains access to all the investment opportunities. The year retail finally hear about real world assets. #RWA

I have no doubt that 2026 will be filled with companies tokenizing their equity. You may ask, what does it actually mean when a company tokenizes their equity? okay so, every company has shares. Shares are quite simply pieces of ownership. Normally these shares live in private databases. Like most other Financial things, they are slow and old. Tokenizing equity simply means moving those shares onto a blockchain. putting the ownership record in a better place. Now, a share = a token And a token is a digital representation of a that share. You with me? Why will we see companies doing this you ask. Well, the answer is pretty straight forward It’s faster, cheaper, more transparent, liquid & global. This is all about modernising ownership. Nothing actually changes in regards to the company, all that’s changed is the technology tracking who owns what. It’s like taking a paper share certificate and turning it into an app. Same share. Just smarter, faster, and easier to use. Why do I think this will be big next year? Well, tokenization as a whole has been lit up in this last quarter massively. Companies want to raise faster, investors want proper ownership, tokenization is the answer. #RWA

One thing crypto always gets wrong about RWAs the point isn’t to “put assets onchain”. The point is to make money move cheaper & faster. In Colombia, lenders using pactfinance saw median APY drop by over 40%. That’s a life-changing difference for borrowers and a margin expansion for lenders. Not because of magic yield. Because onchain rails remove the middlemen that take their cut at every step. Credit is expensive today because the system is outdated. Fix the rails and everything else follows. This is why the $300T credit market is the real endgame for tokenization. #RWA
