Lecar Revolutionizes the Market with Electric Cars Produced in Espírito Santo
Flávio Figueiredo Assis, founder of Lecar, is bringing the electric car manufacturer to Espírito Santo. Lecar already has a ready prototype of model 459, which will be marketed by the end of the year. In addition, the company is developing the Lecar 100, a 100% electric urban car, with an estimated price of up to R$ 100 thousand. The factory in Caxias do Sul is already testing the prototype, and production is expected to begin in December, with an initial forecast of 300 units of model 459.
Flávio, originally from Guaçuí, saw a business opportunity in the growing demand for electric cars and the need to reduce CO² emissions. Before founding Lecar, he worked in the financial sector and enabled his new venture with the sale of Lecard, a food card management company.
Lecar was born in Barueri, São Paulo, and the manufacturer was established in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, due to local expertise in metalworking and mobility. The factory in the south has already developed a prototype that is being evaluated, with street tests scheduled for April. After the prototype is approved, the company will apply for vehicle homologation in London.
Thinking about expansion, Flávio has already started talks to build a factory in São Mateus, in northern Espírito Santo, taking advantage of the region's tax benefits and proximity to suppliers like Marcopolo. The new factory is expected to start operations in early 2026, with a capacity to produce more than 1,000 cars per month. In addition to model 459, the Espírito Santo factory will be responsible for producing the Lecar 100, a popular electric car with a battery range of 250 to 300 kilometers.
