#boundless $ZKC Boundless ($ZKC) is a decentralized protocol and a core infrastructure layer in the blockchain space, specifically designed to address scalability and interoperability using Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs). It is often referred to as a Zero-Knowledge Compute (ZkC) marketplace or a universal ZK proving layer. Key Functions and Technology The primary role of Boundless is to decouple heavy computation from the blockchain consensus mechanism. Instead of every node on a blockchain re-executing every single transaction (which limits speed and scalability), Boundless handles the heavy lifting off-chain. * Verifiable Off-Chain Computation: Developers can offload complex smart contract logic or calculations to a decentralized network of independent nodes called "Provers." * Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP): After executing the computation, the Prover generates a concise Zero-Knowledge Proof (a tiny, cryptographic receipt) that proves the work was done correctly, without revealing the underlying data. * On-Chain Verification: This proof is then submitted to the original blockchain (e.g., Ethereum, Base, Solana) where it can be verified very quickly and cheaply by the network. This process dramatically improves throughput and reduces transaction costs. The $ZKC Token The $ZKC token is the native cryptocurrency of the Boundless protocol and has several key utilities: * Staking and Collateral: Provers must stake (lock up) zkc as collateral to be eligible to participate in the Proof of Verifiable Work system. This collateral can be "slashed" (taken away) if they behave maliciously. * Rewards and Payment: Provers are rewarded with zkc for generating valid proofs, and the token is used for payments of compute services on the network. * Governance:holders can vote on protocol upgrades, fee structures, and other key decisions to govern the Boundless ecosystem. In essence, Boundless aims to be the universal backbone for bringing efficient, verifiable, and trustless computation to any blockchain.
