On the verge of credibility on the digital currency project
The U.S. House of Representatives approved the "Genius Act" last night on Thursday, and President Donald Trump is expected to officially sign it today on Friday, thus becoming the first explicit federal framework to regulate transactions "with stablecoins", which are a type of digital currency backed by traditional assets such as the U.S. dollar or low-risk bonds.
The BBC indicates that the law is one of three major legislative projects clearly supported by the Trump administration, even though he was among the most prominent critics of cryptocurrencies in the past, describing them as "a scam", before changing his position in light of the significant financial and political support he received from this sector during the last elections, in addition to becoming a business partner in companies operating in the field, most notably World Liberty Financial.
