📰 El Salvador bets again on Bitcoin:
The government of Nayib Bukele has made a new purchase of Bitcoin just as the cryptocurrency reached an all-time high of over $118,000 USD. With this acquisition, El Salvador now holds 6,241 BTC, valued at over $753 million dollars, as part of its "strategic reserve."
Although the IMF has recommended limiting the state's use of funds to buy cryptocurrencies, Bukele remains steadfast in his strategy. Some economists point out that, although the rise does not directly boost the economy, it does represent a useful financial cushion in case of emergency.
