Ripple News: XRP ETF Deadlines Delayed Due to U.S. Government Shutdown The approval of XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs) has been pushed back once again. Due to the ongoing U.S. government shutdown, the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) has paused all ETF-related decisions, delaying applications that were originally expected to be reviewed in October. --- New Expected Timeline for XRP ETF Approval A crypto expert shared that even after the government reopens, the SEC will still need time to process pending ETF files. According to him, it could take around four more weeks to clear the backlog, complete legal checks, and finish approvals. He noted, โRealistically, approvals may come between late November and the end of December.โ Some analysts believe the process could speed up because of the SECโs updated rules. The agency has removed the 19b-4 requirement and introduced a new generic listing standard, meaning they now mainly focus on the S-1 filing, which may shorten review time. --- Top Companies Waiting for Approval Several major financial firms are awaiting the SECโs decision on their XRP ETF applications, including: Grayscale 21Shares Bitwise Canary Capital WisdomTree CoinShares Their deadlines, originally between October 18โ25, are now delayed because of the shutdown. Other crypto ETFs facing similar delays include: Litecoin ($LTC Canary, Grayscale, CoinShares Solana ($SOL โ Grayscale, VanEck, 21Shares, Canary, Bitwise Cardano ($ADA Grayscale According to Polymarket data, the chance of an XRP ETF approval by the end of 2025 has jumped to 99%. --- What Experts Are Saying Many believed October would be a major month for crypto ETF approvals. But after the shutdown, expectations quickly changed. Nate Geraci, President of The ETF Store, said the delay was expected under these circumstances. Eric Balchunas, senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg, compared it to a โrain delayโโnot cancelled, just temporarily paused.
