The Domain Name System is like the telephone directory of the Internet 🌐.
Simple explanation
When you type a web page, for example google.com, your phone or computer doesn’t understand names, only numbers called IP addresses.
So the DNS does this job:
1️⃣ You type google.com
2️⃣ The DNS looks up what its real number (IP) is
3️⃣ Your device connects to that number and opens the page.
Simple example
Easy name: google.com
Real number (IP): something like 142.250.190.14
The DNS translates the name to the number so the Internet knows where to go.
