#polygon $POL Polygon is a Layer-2 scaling solution built on top of Ethereum (ETH), aimed at addressing its well-known issues of high fees and slower transaction throughput. The network’s architecture allows for fast, low-cost transactions and supports a wide ecosystem of dApps, gaming, finance and real-world asset tokenisation.

A major part of its current evolution is the transition to “Polygon 2.0,” which envisions a unified modular design, a “gigagas” throughput goal (1000+ transactions per second in the short term, scaling much higher in the longer term), near-instant finality, and broader support for payments and real-world assets (RWAs). As part of that transition the native token has been upgraded: from MATIC to POL, which will serve for staking, fees and governance across the ecosystem.

From an investment / ecosystem perspective: Polygon offers strong potential because of broad developer adoption, institutional interest in tokenised assets on-chain, and its positioning as a key player in scaling Ethereum. On the flip side, it faces heavy competition from other L2s, and any delays or centralisation concerns could weigh on its long-term outlook.
