🚨 The Czech National Bank is quietly stepping into crypto, not with speeches, but with an actual test run.
The CNB has rolled out a $1 million pilot portfolio to see how Bitcoin, a USD-backed stablecoin and a tokenised deposit behave when handled the same way a central bank would manage any modern financial instrument. It’s small on purpose, the money sits outside the bank’s official reserves — but it gives their team room to study custody, settlement paths and day-to-day market swings without touching national balance-sheet risk.
The trial will run for two to three years, long enough for the bank to see what breaks, what works and what might eventually belong inside a regulated monetary framework.
CZ jumped in on X with a playful nudge:

It’s a light moment, but the shift underneath isn’t small. When central banks stop writing about digital assets and start testing them with real capital, the story widens, and the next steps become a lot more interesting.
