U.S. initial jobless claims in November at 220,000, lower than expected
According to reports, the number of initial jobless claims in the U.S. for the week ending November 15 was 220,000, lower than the expected 230,000. The non-farm payroll increased by 119,000 in September, the largest increase since April. The unemployment rate in September was 4.4%, the highest since October 2021, with market expectations at 4.3%.
