📈 Nasdaq Increases Limits on IBIT Options: What It Means for the Market
The Nasdaq exchange plans to significantly raise the limits on options for IBIT (the Bitcoin ETF fund from BlackRock) to a maximum level of 1,000,000 contracts.
The corresponding official application has already been submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Why is this important?
This increase in limits opens the way for a powerful influx of fresh liquidity (❗️) into the market. Previously, large financial players such as institutional funds, market makers, banks, and hedge funds were physically limited in their ability to work with IBIT in significant volumes.
Lifting these restrictions will allow them to enter with larger investments and more actively use IBIT options for trading and hedging, which is likely to increase trading volume and market depth for this popular Bitcoin ETF.$BTC
