📣 BREAKING: CME Group has halted ALL futures trading on Globex due to a cooling system failure at CyrusOne data centers in Aurora, Illinois.
AFFECTED MARKETS: • S&P 500 & Nasdaq futures • All commodities (crude oil, gold, silver, nat gas) • FX markets & EBS platform • Treasury contracts • Crypto futures (BTC, ETH) • Agricultural products
This means traders are completely locked out - can't enter new positions, can't exit existing ones, can't manage risk. The halt happened around 3:00 AM GMT (10 PM EST Thursday night).
CME statement: "Due to a cooling issue at CyrusOne data centres, our markets are currently halted. Support is working to resolve the issue in the near term and will advise clients of Pre-Open details as soon as they are available."
