#MSCI launched a new global index that combines public markets and private capital, integrating its traditional stock index with one that groups more than 10,000 private equity funds.

The objective: to offer institutional investors and high net worth individuals a unified view of the market, given that private capital assets have doubled since 2018 — today they exceed $4.7 trillion.

But some analysts warn: profitability in private capital is very heterogeneous, which could complicate its use as a standard market benchmark.
