Today @Aster DEX on-chain destroyed a total of 77.86 million $ASTER tokens, valued at $82.05 million (Figure 1️⃣)
This destruction accounts for approximately 1% of the supply and 3.28% of the circulation.
Aster officially started the buyback on October 24. The buyback funds come from 70%-80% of protocol fees (averaging $2-3 million daily), executed automatically every 2 minutes (initial scale approximately $5,000-$6,000 per execution) (Figure 2️⃣) with total buybacks exceeding $100 million $ASTER to date.
As of December 5, 2025, the total buyback amount exceeds $214 million, with 137 million $ASTER destroyed (circulation reduced to 2.295 billion, a decrease of about 3.28%)
