Seven Years of Lessons: Real Traders Ultimately Choose Silence

In 2023, a friend took my advice to buy ETH, and after it rose by 50%, she kept asking every day: "Should I sell?"

I advised her to hold, but she only wanted to hear "sell." I went along with her, and she immediately sold everything. As a result, ETH doubled again. Later, when she asked me about coins, I mentioned a meal she owed me, and she never brought it up again.

From entering the market in 2018 until now, seven years have passed. I've seen more, but fewer people are willing to chat. There are countless fans and endless likes, but very few can truly engage in conversation.

Some asked me about the prospects of altcoins, and I said, "I’m not sure." They were shocked, thinking I was pretending. But researching projects requires looking at white papers, data, and unlocking rhythms, which can take weeks to months. When they ask how much it will rise, I still respond, "I don’t know." True experts are not fortune tellers.

I advised my family to buy BTC during a bull market, but they said, "Wait for MEME to break even." I laughed, "By the time you break even, the new generation of Layer2 will be fully utilized." They acknowledge your expertise but always want you to trade by their logic: only picking up cheap ones, only supplementing those that are stuck, and only selling when they want to sell. It’s like someone who doesn’t understand driving sitting in the passenger seat and instructing the experienced driver.

Some followed my operations and boasted in the group after making money, even leveraging to surpass me. The next time they wanted to ask me again, I thought, "What’s in it for me?" Staying up late to watch on-chain data, they gamble in five minutes, and when they lose, they blame me. Help once, bear a lifetime.

I once warned a friend about abnormal ETH activity, telling him to run first. He did avoid the crash but suspected I had insider information, and since then, he distanced himself. I also helped someone double their SOL and exit, but they blamed me for not calling it at the peak. It’s hard to argue.

Later, when a friend asked about profits, I casually sent a screenshot of my wallet, and from then on, we no longer contacted each other. They said I was showing off. But back then, while they had luxury cars and villas, I was working hard; who was really showing off?

The crypto world is destined to be lonely. You quietly accumulate during the lows while they cut losses; you retreat at the highs, and they say you’re lucky. Over time, I no longer advise, I no longer explain.

After seven years, I choose to remain silent. Those who truly understand the market don’t need to say much; a glance is enough to understand each other. $BTC
