According to the publication, two of the four participants tried to escape from the scene, but all were detained by the police.

The jewellery themselves were not damaged as a result of the incident.

The Take Back Power group (whose representatives committed this act of vandalism) said that their action is aimed at drawing attention to "the problem of excessive wealth against the background of poverty". They demand that the British government create a "People's Chamber" with the authority to tax the richest citizens.
