Reflecting on past cycles: What was I doing during the bear markets? Today I'm thinking about a question: What should I really do in a bear market? I've experienced several cycles, but if you ask me to recall what I was doing in each bear market, to be honest, I find it a bit hard to remember. But one thing is certain: I was always working, always looking for opportunities, basically never leaving the market.

The bear market in the cryptocurrency world is quite strange. Generally, it drops for about a year before starting to rise again. And during the rising phase, there are actually quite a few opportunities emerging.

For example: during the downturn in 2023 and 2024, there were also many opportunities. In 2022, there were many opportunities as well, but there were also some opportunities in 2019, and 2020 saw the DeFi bull market explode, no need to say more.

So theoretically, there are also opportunities in a bear market. It's still necessary to stay in the market and observe.

But at the same time, we must also admit: the maturity of the industry has increased, and the dividends have decreased. Whether this round will repeat the previous rhythm is hard to say. Let's talk a bit about the essence of trading in a bear market: it's very easy to lose money and mess up one's mindset; there really isn’t that much time for trading in a bear market. There aren't many big opportunities, and there are very few small ones as well. Those who understand know this; if you trade frequently in a bear market, especially if you’re not a top player, it's very easy to lose money and mess up your mindset.

Even making money during a bull market isn’t easy, let alone in a bear market.

The rising tide of a bull market allows you to profit no matter how you maneuver, but the bear market is different; bullets at this moment are very precious.

These bullets, if saved for the bull market, can easily increase significantly. So in a bear market, you must not lose money recklessly; wait for liquidity to return and for market enthusiasm to come back.
